These graphics were contained within a report about a HMIC review which recommends the police must stop being heavy-handed when they are dealing with demonstrators and return to traditional tactics.
The first highlights some last minute ammendments to the review document and the second outlines some of the changes.

Somalia Kidnap Plea
Paul and Rachel Chandler, who were kidnapped off the Somali coast by pirates, made a direct plea on video obtained by Channel 4 News, warning UK authorities they fear their captors kill them. This map graphic charted the events from the day they left the Seychelles in their yacht.
EU President Funny
Tony Blair's hopes of being President of the European Commission are fading and Europe's leaders are poised to reject a candidate with "star power" in favour of a man virtually unknown outside his homeland. This graphic was a mock up of four EU prime ministers in the positions ofs the X-factor judges.
British Soldier Blog
British Soldier Andrew Fentiman who died in Afghanistan wrote a blog in which he said the soldiers were waiting for body armour and helmets to be delivered. This graphic showed the actual blog and highlighted the passage of text.

Belle de Jour
The infamous author of Diary of a London Call Girl turns out to be a scientist with a PhD in epidemiology who funded her studies by working as a high-class hooker. This graphic consisted of moves on the various book covers published by Dr Brooke Magnanti.
Afghanistan Translators
Channel 4 News led with a story covering the neglect and disillusionment of employed Afghan interpreters by the British Forces.
This Graphic highlighted copy from a letter written to one interpreter by his commanding officer.
Satellite Rosetta
The European Space Agency have a satellite called Rosetta on a mission which includes four gravity assist manoeuvres (3 x Earth, 1 x Mars) before finally travelling for 10 years to reach a comet called Comet 67 P/Churyumov- Gerasimenko. This graphic which was aired on More4 News charts the journey using ESA information and animation.

World Memory Championships
It was the World Memory Championships today and More4 News covered the event. The graphic was supposed to give a feel for the fact that some of the competitors use association to remember sequences of ones and zeros. For example: Paris Hilton could be 101100!
Educating Nurses
Proposals to make it necessary for nurses to be educated to degree level were discussed on todays More4 News. The graphics shows current education and the measures proposed to be introduced by 2013.
DNA Database
Today the Home Office announced the DNA records of innocent people will no longer be held indefinitely and will only be kept for six years. The graphic shows the reduction in sentencing for different age groups.
